Our wood is derived from managed sustainable forests within 60 miles of our base and not imported from Eastern Europe like many other suppliers.

To ensure quality, we use a single local supplier, Wood Fuel Barn for all our wood, who cut, process, kiln dry and test the firewood to the highest industry standards. Again when our wood arrives with us, it is again tested to confirm moisture content, log size and species, ensuring you are completely satisfied when your logs are delivered.

We are so confident that Camino Firewood is the best, that’s why we guarantee it! If you are not happy with our logs, then we will replace or refund you!!!

About Camino Firewood

Camino Firewood was established through the alarming number of issues our sister company Camino Chimney and Stove Services were finding with peoples heating appliances, which by simply using the correct fuel would eliminate. It is surprising that after spending thousands of pounds having a beautiful stove installed, people then choose to use the cheapest fuel they can find.

In addition to the lack of heat, burning problems, pollution and dangerous deposits in their chimney, most if not all manufacturers require burning of wood with less than 20% moisture content to maintain their warranty. Burning anything over and your warranty is not worth the paper it is written on.

Would you buy a new car, use the wrong fuel and then expect it to work correctly!

At Camino Firewood we take immense pride in what we do, our close attention to detail ensures your Firewood is the finest on the market, delivered punctually, with care and good old fashion friendly customer service.

Why Kiln Dried Hardwood Logs

Dry wood produces more heat than wet wood. This is because the energy that would otherwise be released into your living room is instead being used to evaporate the water contained in the log. So if you reduce the water content of your log by half, you nearly double the amount of heat produced by the log.

Burning wet wood will lead to increased emissions into the atmosphere and the buildup of dangerous deposits of tar and creosote in your chimney.

Freshly cut wood can have a water content between 60% and 80% and if used in a stove will amount to burning water. Freshly felled timber should be cut and split into small logs and left to dry in a covered but airy store, before being used. This can take between 12 and 36 months depending on the storage conditions and most important species.

Many people do not have space or inclination to dry wood for up to three years. They want to buy wood that is processed and cut to the correct size and dried to have a moisture content below 20%. This is why Camino Firewood only sells firewood that is ready to burn.

Using dry wood means that fewer logs are needed to produce the same level of heat, saving you money!

Kiln Dried Kindling

Our kindling is hand cut from clean kiln dried logs. Unlike most other kindling we do not use pallets or aged wood, our kindling has a rough surface area so it lights quickly, burns longer to get the heat you need to establish your fire.

Barrow Bag of British Kiln Dried Hardwood

The barrow bag is our most popular product due to its value for money and easy manoeuvrability. Once at your property we can move your logs into the garden, garage or shed, to be honest anywhere really!

This is equivalent to approx. 10-11 net bags.

The moisture of our kiln dried wood is below 20% and generally reads between 10%-15%. This is the most optimal moisture for burning and is therefore ready to burn with the highest efficiency.
